Just wanted to let everyone know that we are continuing to work on the site. In an effort to improve technical content moving forward, we are working on a few navigation changes to give the Wikis more visibility. I'm working on a direct link to the Wikis from the top menu, and looking for the best way to show one or all of the Wikis at once.
Also, stay tuned for some announcements on how we plan to AWARD those who contibute technical content! AND, be on the lookout soon for lots of new technical articles and videos directly from Factory Five.
As usual, input from you on the changes will be more than welcome. Just keep in mind that some features that you will see appear are just temporary, as we work to plug in new capabilities. So if you see links or buttons appear and then disappear, it's not a bug, it's just us turning stuff on and off during testing...

Actually, the new posts button should yield all the posts since the last time the reader reset it with the "Mark Posts as Read" button.

Hey David, what happened to the "Southwest" forum?

Hi Doug,
I moved it to Southern Mountain discussions to remove overlap with the So-Cal crowd. First I divided the regions based on time zones and then regions within the time zone:

It's just basically a naming nomencalature change...

Hi Doug,

:)
Well if you don't want me to come down to So.Cal anymore just say so.... Just kidding. I'll still love you guys even if you don't love me.
For the record, I don't like the change. Here's why:
1. I didn't like it when we were moved from So Cal to the Southwest.
2. Other than our local stuff, most of the events we attend are in So. Cal.
3. Other than a few friends in AZ an UT, most of our FFR friends are in So Cal.
4. The southern end of NV, ie. Vegas, has more in common with So. Cal than we do with Reno.
5. All the tracks I drive on are in So. Cal.
6. I don't live in the mountains. I live in the desert.
7. After being in the Southwest for so long I don't want to move because I don't have enough equity in my house for me to come out ahead. Mountain homes are expensive.
8. We (in Nevada) are in the same time zone as the rest of the West Coast.
9. When checking into the other forum and then this one, I get confused on where I am.
10. I'm getting too old to change.
Probable the best reason is #10. I'm just used to being in the Southwest. It's home now.

Hi David,
I don't know the appropriate place to post site suggestions, but hopefully this is a good place. In the Open Design Discussion and What's NEXT! thread, I suggested (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?338-Open-Design-Discussion-and-What-s-NEXT!&p=12341&viewfull=1#post12341) that the site admin consider implementing something like the Image Resizer add-on for vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=118048). I've never used it as an admin, so I don't know if it has any pitfalls such as increased server load or administration headaches, but as a user, I've found it pretty nice.
