Hello,

I really like the new 818 kit, and going to try and buy one in the near future.
I am trying to compare the body panels on the S and R models, and can't tell if the sides are different or the same.
I don't know if the paint job is just making it appear different.

I love the way the R model looks, but a full windshield will make the car much more usable.

Does the S and R share the same exterior body panels?

Thanks,

I am 99% sure they share the same body panels.

same. rear decklid needs to be modified to fit the roll cage but that's about it.

I was curious about that also, do the doors on the 818r open? there is an additional bar from the roll cage that would kind of block it.

They don't open, the frame has no hinge provisions.

Per conversation last week with FFR rear decklid is one piece on 818R instead of 2 pieces. Doorskins don't open, but are not part of quarter.

2 fenders
2 doorskins
2 quarter pannels
1 rear deckllid
1 hood
1 front nose piece
1 rear tail piece

front windshield can be swapped from race to street version, but when I asked if it was quick swap answer was not really (guess that means decision needs to be made b4 getting to the track). Thermoplastic panels still in development, not 100% guaranteed to be made.
