Hi Everyone.
I have just ordered a 65 Coupe. Going with the IRS Setup. Lots of other unique details and features planned.

I have the Powertrain all spec'd out and should be on order tomorrow.

Coyote Aluminator Engine for SC applications
cw/ Boss Alternator, Moroso Oil Pan & Pickup, Ford Racing Coyote Valve Covers, A/C Compressor.
Ford Racing Control Pack
Sean Hyland Motorsport (SHM) Eaton Roots Style Supercharger

Its going to be a tight fit but we are confident we are close. I have to say SHM has been awesome to deal with. Peter Mills there, has gone over, not only the Powertrain selection with me but also everything from Steering, Gearing. Braking. even the Cool factor in the engine compartment.

The Engine is mated to a Tremec TKO-600 5 Speed with the MidShift Kit.

Sean Hyland Motorsport is going to put the package together and I will pick it up in Person. They are located about 3 hours away in Woodstock towards Toronto.

I am in Windsor Ontario. If you don't recognize my handle, it is EEP (Essex Engine Plant), where they manufacture the Coyote 5.0L I worked there during my career as a Manufacturing Engineer on various different Programs. The Coupe has always been one of my favorite cars and with the chance to combine it with a local product, I couldn't resist.

I have to give a special thanks to Tony Gray who had my son and I come up and see his finished Roadster and his current Coupe build. His hospitality and willingness to share his experience first hand was first class. Our discussions with him made it a done deal. And last but not least Al Beix of Western Canada Cobras who is always there to assist with any challenges that arise.

I have been following the forums for a short time and I am sure I can count on everyone's support for input and solutions for the challenges ahead

Congratulations on the purchase! You will enjoy the coupe build. It looks like you will be building quite the rocket ship to enjoy.

What a great story behind the powertrain. Should be a real hit with the locals when you open the hood.

I was looking at the website with the rules for kit cars in Canada. They appear to be fussy about origin of drivetrain on kit cars. They go so far as to even say driveline cannot follow in a different shipment. I may not have read it correctly, and am only mentioning it just in case you have not seen the site. Site is at http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/roadsafety/tp-tp2436-rs200804-menu-685.htm

Larry,

Congrats on the coupe order. The drivetrain sounds like a real winner!

Last weekend I had my coupe on a cruise with the Deep South Cobra Club, out of Jacksonville, FL ... at a gas station, one twerp asked me if it was an Opel GT, another asked if it was a Triumph Spitfire ... I was able to respond, "Well, it does have Triumph Spitfire hood latches." These coupes are so rare that most people don't know what they are. But a surprising number of the younger generation know what it is because of one of the video games that feature the Daytona. An instant car show wherever you park these things. Enjoy the build and the driving of the coupe when finished ... with that powertrain, you will need to have your local tire dealer on "speed dial"!

Hi Doug Thanks for the note, I have been working with Al Beix with Western Canada Cobras on the Importation of the Kit. The Drivetrain is being purchased in Ontario from a third party and not the Kit Manufacturer. Sales Tax is payable regardless of where I buy items for the car. This is because to register the car in Ontario I have to show all receipts and taxes paid.

I would recommend Al to anyone in Canada purchasing a kit from FFR. It doesn't cost you a dime, as his services come out of FFR's end. If you are not picking up the kit yourself, its the best way to expedite the process.

Thanks Garry and Riptide,

I know my son and his friends are pretty familiar with it for exactly that reason; video games, lol. They are 19. As for the Tires, I will a spare set lined up on his shelf.
