302 engine. Removing the #2 spark plug. This particular plug is generally thisclose to the shorty headers and difficult to remove. Are there any special tools you've fabricated or recommendations to remove the #2 plug short of removing the header? Thanks. (FYI...I have GT40p heads)

I always have trouble with #5 through 8. With the long tube headers on a 351W, those can be a real pain to get to.
I took a cheap thin walled 5/8" socket, and trimmed it down just a little bit. I wanted it as short as possible, but still contain the spark plug.
I insert a short piece of 3/8" square bar into the square hole at the end of the socket, and use a 3/8" open end wrench to tighten and loosen the spark plug.
I have another piece of 3/8" square bar that I welded a nut on to. With that, I can use a box wrench or a longer end wrench for a little more torque.

I did the same as Bob. Old socket and a grinder.
