Hello Roadsters, I have a question about cooling. I am running a 351W with a stock mustang radiator. I want to wire my system to be able to turn the fan on with a switch. I have a wire going to the sending unit and also tapping into a switch. That works fine, however, do I need an additional sending unit to send a signal to the gauge?

Yes the gauge uses a sender compatable and sends variable out put. The fan control sender is either on or off.

Thank you, do both senders go on the intake water jackets

You can put both senders in the water/intake manifold. Or the fan sender can be one of the type that pushes into the radiator. I like the sensor in the manifold better. Regarding the dash switch. It depends on what you end up with. I recently replaced a unit that had a 4 pin relay. It had been easy to use the sensor and the dash switch to ground the relay so either would turn the fan on. The new unit from Derale needs the dash switch to send power to the controller. Both were fairly easy to wire.

ksamson if you have two water fittings in manifold yes, some manifolds only have one. You cannot "T" the fitting as they must have water flow over them to give accurate readings.

Craigs, he said he already has the switch wired in and working. I have used the probe in the radiator many times with good results, when manifold or head does not have a fitting.
