My front wheels hit the 818 frame and alum before the rack stop. Erik has the same issue. My wheels are 18x7.5 x 48mm backspace with 225/40 ZR18 tires. Combo is 24.5" diameter and I shimmed to 40mm backspace. This maybe a problem that needs looking into.

The tire size is the problem, both to tall and to wide. We tried those size tires on the red car and it wouldn't steer more than about 10 degrees either direction. The size you want is a 215/35/18. (The listed diameter of a 255/40/18 is usually just over 25 inches vs under 24 for a 215/35/18 or 215/40/17 and that is the major difference, but the extra width is hurting you as well)
