Canadian-version 818 Approved for Import by Transport Canada

For those of you eagerly awaiting approval to import an 818 into Canada, I wanted to let you know we've received our first import approval from Transport Canada!

I'm cautiously optimistic, since this is the first one, but I don't expect any roadblocks. If you're in Canada and you've got an 818S or 818R on order, one of the guys here will be getting in touch with you to confirm scheduling and move forward.

Like the Mk4 and other Canadian-version kits, the configuration of what you can import is slightly different than the standard 818. I'll get a Canadian-specific 818 order form posted on our website very soon. Thanks for posting the info Jason, I got an email from Al Beix at Western Canada Cobras late last week and been tying to find the time to post the news. I am assuming from the greatly reduced price he is quoting, Transport Canada is not allowing a LOT of the parts from the kit into Canada. On a positive note he is also listing a completion kit to make up for the missing parts - all from Whitby Motorsport according to the email.
