I need to locate a donor rear end for my 33, and I haven't figured out which Ford models and years are the best donors, for a five lug limited slip differential, preferably with 3.55 or 3.73 gears. I'd bet you experienced builders can shed some light on that for me. Fords powertrains are new to me, but thanks to some great contributors, I'm learning quickly. Thanks for the help.

I called the tech line about this same question. They said it was setup to accept a fox body rear end (86-93 I think). The problem is that those are 4 lug and drum brakes. I have also heard a few guys say they needed spacers to get the wheels out a bit. I just picked up a junk yard rear end out of a 94-98 mustang GT. this has the exact same housing, but the axles are 3/4" wider on each side and they have 5 lugs and disc brakes. I hear the 99-04 are a couple inches wider than the 94-98. Mine also came with Trac-loc, but I have not torn it down yet to assess its condition.

You will still need to convert it to the 3-link setup, or you can just buy it from Moser already converted for $1900.

Hope this helps.

I picked up mine from MPS Salvage, they market rear ends for the factory five's. not sure what year it is from, but it had everything I wanted and it dropped right in, Had to modify for the QA1's and slight modification to clear the body but other than that pretty easy. 3.73 gears all new differential , axles, hubs and brakes.
