Hello guys never introduced myself my name is Bob and I'm ready to join in the insanity. This is going to be father son project. My father and I have already built a MK III and it turned out good. I have been trying to con him into wanting to build one ever since we got the MK III. We operate a small salvage yard here in KY so we was able to obtain a wrecked corvette a little over a year ago with no intentions of building one but did mention doing it. The deciding factor was we were able to purchase a burnt 1988 911 turbo for the transaxle and the five thousand dollar increase. I have already sold a lot off the corvette to help offset the cost of the donor parts and the transaxle is basically free after selling the core engine. I'm sure we will be asking a lot of questions and also trying to let everybody know of any tips or tricks we learn. I just want to say thanks in advance. Here are some pictures of them unloading the gtm and some of the MK III we built.

Bobby-
Well since you will be needing the garage space, and I am a pretty selfless guy, I have $40.00 CASH for that Roadster; we're talking CASH here!! I mean, it's the least I could do to make room in your garage so you can get started on the GTM; it's all about you buddy!! ;-o)
I think you will have little trouble selling the Roadster; she looks great! I love that color! Good luck with the sale, and also the build. It's got to be pretty cool building with your Dad, and I wish you the best.
Regards,
Steve

Its been a while since my last post. We have finally got started on the gtm. The car is in a roller now and motor and transmission is in. Had to make a crossmember for the 930 transaxle. We are working on a slave cylinder conversion now. Thankfully we have a cousin that works in a machine shop at a factory. He is helping design and make the bracket that is going to hold the slave cylinder. He already made us a bronze bushing that we used to center up the steering column. Here are a few progress pictures hope you enjoy.
