I've been lurking about the FFCars forum for years, even did a few tech posts, but have been a factory five fan for a long time, so I'm not a 'newbie' per say.... but yeah, I don't post here.

Long story short, my baby, my '91 bronco with a warm 351W (Hydraulic Roller block from a Lightning) was wrecked earlier this year. I've been fighting with the insurance company of the kid who hit me for compensation and I'm getting closer & closer.

A buddy of mine has been trying to convince me to buy a local fox body for cheap ($900 cheap) and throw the old windsor into it. So, to say the least, I have thought about it. But I'm on a budget, as most everyone is, and I'm not looking for an all out outlaw 9.50 et car, just something to drive around, get some bragging rights, and have fun with.

I have a bullet proof, updated, steel internal'd E4OD trans behind the 351 now. The truck's frame is toast so it's a goner for sure, and I'm thinking about a stand alone trans controller, and a carb'd 351.

The problem is, I'm familiar with the truck/torque aspect of building a 351w, and the dragcar aspect of LS1's. I know the roller blocks have far more potential than standard solid lifter/cam blocks of the previous generations.

What would you do to the engine to create something fun, fast, and possibly nitrous friendly close to that '500/500' range that everyone always talks about and desires. Would you stroke it? How big? Would you go EFI? Would you use nitrous for fun? Would you keep the bullet proof heavy duty truck transmission? What would you do folks?

Stroke it to 408 using a high quality rotating assy. With the right cam, heads, intake and carb you can make an easy and drivable 550hp. Then ise a 150 shot on top and you will have a really quick car that you can drive ever day.
