If I mount it as far outside and as high as possible to ensure tubing clears cross brace, will it be out of the way if everything else? Also, mine didn't have a template in the box but I think I can figure that part out lol

I have wipers also, so that area may become crowded. Just need advice on where to locate heater to make sure there is room for wiper motor, cables and whatnot

Here are a couple pictures of my heater installed (without the motor side for easier viewing). I put it in the exact location described by the install manual. There isn't a whole lot of room, so I was hesitant to try and play games on where it was positioned. Go to the Parts section of the FFR main webiste and find the heater assembly, you can download the install manual from that page. Also, as a side note, the positioning of the big holes for the heater and the screws were correct on the template, but the holes for the hoses were off-center. I ended up having to bend the crap out of the heater hoses in order to get them into the center of the holes I drilled per the template. So I gues word to the wise, match the template in the instructions up to the actual heater module before you install it so your hoses don;t look all crappy like mine. Tell me if you need any measurements and good luck with the rest of your build!

Here's a pic that shows the FFR heater installed with a bunch of other things on the firewall... wiper motor, S/C oil catch can, wiper fluid pump, etc.

The engine is a 347 with big block valve covers mounted on adapters that are 3/8" thick. With the aluminum elbows attached to the heater inlet and outlet, there is room to work and no chaffing of the hoses on the engine.
