OK, back in 2005, I purchased a Mallory 140 series pump. At somewhere around 10,000 miles on my odo, one bushing wore down.
I bought a replacement but I also bought a second pair thinking this might happen again.
I 'just' got back from the "Snakes To The Lake" drive over the weekend (Lake Tahoe) and this morning, I started up the car, but didn't notice the lack of the fuel pump noise... I got pretty far, about 2 miles, before it puttered to a stop. I'm currently at about 19,800 miles now.
So the questions:
1) How long are the brushes suppose to last?
2) Is Holley and Mallory about the same?
3) Is Aeromotive any better?
4) Any others having success with other external pumps?
I will be inspecting both the canister and inline filters this week; perhaps they are starting to clog up a little and causing the pump to labor more???
Sorry for these questions but I'm at work and have little time to "search" but hopefully people are bored and willing to chime in. :D
