Are the pointers supposed to light up on the electronic Factory Five gauges? I have dial backlighting, but the needles don't light up and are very hard to see at night.

Thanks!

Here's a picture of mine. The red glow is from the tail lights draped over the rear roll cage. Hope this helps!

If you have the black faced electric gauges from FFR (Speedhut), yes, the arms light and the numbers/graphics light. There is no lighting of the faceplate. The clock arms do not light up.

The dash harness that comes with the gauge set has TWO feeds for the lighting circuit. One has the modulator to adjust the dial light intensity, and the other is for the needle illumination. It's kind of buried in the instructions.

Yep, they are the gauges you describe. Anyone know which of the 12v leads power the pointer lighting?

I have the same problem. I have the Speed Hut gauges with the Ron Francis wire harness. Funny thing is I added an oil temperature light and it has both back lighting AND the needles light up. Also, the dash light brightness control on the light switch is either on or off.

Anyone know which "lighting" wires go to the module?

All the information you require is on their website although the instructions should have come with the gauges.

Mine are wired (and 12v verified) as described in the instructions. Pointers still don't light up.

Can someone from Factory Five comment?

Thanks!

Ok, confession is good for the soul (I hope!!). I peeked up under the dash, and found a very thin white wire with a very nice circle connection on it. I guess when I added the "dimmer rheostat", I forgot to reconnect the pointer power.

Geez...........

I had some pointers that lite all the time, some that lite when the ignition was on and some that never lite. I have the vintage gauges and the Ron Francis wiring kit. After some investigation and a call to Speedhut we determined I had everything wired correctly...Inverter black wire tied to the black wire in three wire loom (red, black, white) connected to the black "gauge ground" wire in the RF loom...Inverter white wire tied to the white wire in the three wire loom (red, black, white) connected to the to the white "gauge lights" wire in the RF loom...Red wire in the three wire loom (red, black, white) connected to the brown "gauge feed" wire in the RF loom.

So if it's wired correctly why do some light up and some don't??? I have the "old" vintage gauges which only light up the needle when the ignition is turned on. The one gauge that the needle was always lite was a new oil temperature gauge that I bought directly from Speedhut and it is a newer model than what was supplied in my FFR kit...it has an "upgrade" which causes the needles to light up when the light switch is turned on. The needles on the older FFR gauges only light up when both the light switch AND ignition are turned on. Old and new gauges are wired the same way.

Speedhut is going to fix my gauge...
