When I read that Kit Car Magazine took the 818 out for a spin and was planning on writing an article I figured there was no better time to renew my subscription.

Well I got in my first new magazine Monday and low and behold the front cover is the 818!

Here's the site - pretty basic, didn't find an online option - http://www.kitcarmagazine.com/

Looks like that's NOT the same company - sorry for any confusion.

Is it just me or does that coupe picture look to be a real car and not just a rendering?

Confusing, but kitcarmagazine.com is not the website for Kit Car Magazine:

"KitCarMagazine.com is an Independently run Online company. We are NOT affiliated with the paper subscription magazine or any other organization."

@wleehendrick, the magazine is actually called Kit Car Builder. There was a Kit Car Magazine, but they shut down a few years ago.

Right, I saw that when I followed the link that SixStar posted was incorrect (plus, even the thread title states 'Kit Car Magazine'; can that be changed to avoid further confusion?)

I changed the thread title; Thanks for pointing that out.

where do you get that magazine? Walmart, Grocery store, or someplace like Barnes and Noble

I believe that they are subscription only, I have never seen it in a news rack anywhere.

Yes, Barnes and Noble usually carries it. But is it out there yet? Subscribers usually get their magazines before they hit news stands, don't they?

Just subscribe! It's a great magazine and the tech articles are FAR better than most of the major magazines like Popular Hot Rodding, ect.

Barnes & Noble carries Kit Car Builder, but they usually one have a few copies and they sell out pretty quickly.

I called their subscriptions department at Kit Car Builder. If you subscribe now, you won't receive the September/October copy. The next you will receive is the November/December edition. They said we have 2 options, we can order just the Sept/Oct issue from them alone for $9.00, or pick it up from Barnes & Noble or Books-a-million for about $6. It is expected to hit the shelf on September 3rd.

Not a detail? What does that mean?

It looks like a real picture but must be a rendering, right? I would love to see a coupe or a removeable hardtop for the 818 since it has rained at my house every day but 3 in the last 2 months. An open cockpit convertable in my area (North Florida) would not be a pleasant mode of transportation.

No? You could drive and bathe simultaneously saving time! LOL

Just because we've had 35" of rain in the last 45 days you want a hard top? Really? :D

Here is a link to a picture I found ;) of the 818 Coupe...it sure looks real to me

David Hodgkins if you need to take down the link I understand.

That is not real. It is an artists modification done by Vman7. Look at this link :http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/album.php?albumid=541&attachmentid=16871

Then again, his designs have always been well liked and got lots of attention so who knows what is in store. A coupe version is coming but the general consensus is wait a little bit, they are still trying to working everything out with the current version.
