I am just starting a MK4 project
Coyote 5.0L engine , with Tremec TKO 600 5 speed, w/Centerforce clutch, Ford racing aluminum flywheel, all from Summit Racing
Will the shifter be located in a convenient location when installed or are modifications / other considerations required?

Great choice! I have the same combo (as per FFR parts list) and the install did not require any modifications for the conventional shifter location. However the trans support A-frame requires a slight mod (extension to properly support the transmission - FFR has an extension plate available) and spacers are required to raise the transmission for proper shifter height and spacers are required for the engine mounts (between frame and engine mount).

Fit is great and shifter location is very comfortable

I recommend reviewing all of the posts on the Coyote forum as there are many helpful posts including foot box mods (very tight fit without the foot box mods

Check the bell housing for interference with the flywheel as I had to grind 3 locations for proper fit (I learned the hard way after installing the engine and trying the first start - needed to remove the engine and trans, disconnect the bell housing and reinstall)

Good luck

thanks for input, surprised to hear about the bell housing interference w/flywheel. I will be sure to check on this, I have a Ford Aluminum flywheel M6375 R00A and Ford Racing Bell Housing M 6392 M46, ordered engine mounts from Whitby and engine/trans kit for Coyote from Factory Five and Foot box mod. from Factory Five
I am in San Jose, where are u located

Hey Bigdog54,

I am in Morgan Hill and about a month away from the first start on a MKIV Coyote TKO build! If you want to take a look or have questions just let me know. I have been through it all with the Coyote setup...

Take a look here: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?10686-Coyote-TKO-midshift-without-buying-a-midshifter

This is what I am doing with the shifter in the Coyote TKO setup.
