Engine/Transmission Serial Numbers

Can anyone tell me where the serial number is on the block of a 2005-2010 SOHC 3V 4.6 out of a mustang? I don't have the engine, but someone else needs to know where to look. Thought you guys might be able to help

Also, where is the serial number on a TR-3650 transmission out of a 2005-2010 mustang?

On a 5.0, the serial number for the engine should be on the passenger side of the block behind the starter. Not sure about the 4.6.

Doug, that's the block casting behind the starter, not the car's VIN stamping. That's on the top rear of the engine block behind the intake on the pushrod 5.0L. Of course none of this means squat to Michael. I have a Three-Valve in our '68 Mustang project. I'll see if I can find where Ford does it on those. Pretty sure it is a dot-stamping and not full letter/numeral stamping like the older blocks.

Mark, thanks for the correction. I was thinking VIN and saying casting. I still have no idea on the 4.6.
