I have a 351 and a 6060 quicktime bell housing that is suppose to work with my TKO 600, but my shaft is to short. Its just over 6 in and about a inch too short to fit into the bearing....what can I do???

Man, that sucks. I remember reading about an extended input shaft which has to be installed in some applications. That doesn't sound like a quick or easy fix. The other route is a different bell housing. Either way not much fun. Sorry. WEK.

Talk to these guys. They mention different length shafts for different applications. They should be able to set your straight.

Not a forum vendor so far as I know but the do mention Forte's so maybe I wont get flamed by a moderator.

Strange problem. I have a TKO600 trans in my MkIV that I got from Forte's and the Quick Time bellhousing that came from Mark at Breeze. Everything fit perfectly. The housing I have is NOT the SFI unit for racing.
Check with Mike Forte.............he's a Tremec dealer and can certainly help you.

Are you sure you have the motor mounts in correctly? If you switch them side to side it moves the engine 1 1/2 " forward...thus the shaft will be too short.

Transmission input shaft or drive shaft? If drive shaft tcoon has a good lead. If input shaft either the transmission or bellhousing is the incorrect part for the application.

You really are lucky! If it had been me, I would have had to break the trans down or something of that nature. I hear the Tremac is a simple removal of the plate holding the shaft and regrease the bearing and put it back together. So you just had a little "hickup" in your build plan. Not bad! Smooth sailing from now on, WEK.
