Delivering 818R #001 Saturday to Atlanta, with stops in South Carolina on the way.

Just wondering.

Not yet. Mine supposed to ship via Stewart this week, but no call yet. Kit was completed Saturday.

My kit was completed Saturday but I have had no call as of yet. I spoke to Stewart Transportation last Thursday and I was told because of my location (Pennsylvania), I would most likely be one of the first stops.

I will post as soon as I hear something.

Me too. I orderd my kit on July 3rd and have been prepping ever since. I still have a bit more prepping to pass the time building shelves. Patience. Patience

Lol at this point my sons are chomping at the bit as well. They keep asking me if they can take a few days off from summer camps when the kit gets here. The surprise for them is no more camps after this week and I am taking the rest of the month off to work on the car with them

Happy building to all you 818 guys and gals!

Thanks Dale, I posted this here because I am assuming that Roadsters are the majority of the deliveries.

The 818 is certainly a departure for me, as I am born and bred FoMoCo. My hope is to also build a MKIV Coyote someday. The MKII I had was way too much fun.

Just got the call. Should be here (south Louisiana) next Tuesday morning. Someone in central Florida is right before me lol. This will be a very long week.

I too love the coyote motor. I've got a supercharged 2011 that's the most impressive car I've owned. I would have put one in this one but I'm in a budget and I have the old 302 already. The next project, either a ff 33 or a rats glass speedster, will be a coyote though. I

Yes, definitely set up a web cam.

It'll be fun watching your build!

My two sons stayed home from camp today to help out. Going to have an early lunch together in the garage and make the final preparations and talk about cars.

They have always traveled through my office and picked up, looked at or read the auto manuals or articles I have written over the past 25 years, now they actually get to have some "hands on" experiences.

lol, Well, if you ask my kids they will tell say that I (and my wife), are pretty tough on them but only when we need to be.

No adoptions at this time! I keep telling them as soon as the youngest goes off to college, the "For Sale" sign goes up at the end of the driveway.

Awesome Eric!!!

Thanks!

It was a great experience. The driver showed up at 3:00 pm and was a little stressed. His first stop was in a section of PA that is not real friendly to bit rigs but he was happy to be in my neck of the woods. The delivery itself went smooth. I thought that because my driveway is over 100 yards long and gravel carting the car would be a problem. Not a problem at all. The driver had a cart with 10" pneumatic wheels that rolled as smooth as my Avalanche.

Today will be the inventory and storing of parts. Tomorrow starts the disassemble and Sunday we will start the build with the "Cole Brothers Cobra" build thread.

I sincerely hope you have as much fun as I did yesterday.

Did you make sure mine was in there???;)

Was Jim alone or did he have a partner?

EricatHeritage

He was all by himself. Great guy too.

He had one more Mark IV, three 818s and a couple 33s. His next stop was Virginia beach then I believe Atlanta.

Will do bs.

Ffr, I got polished stainless pipes, windwings, visors, tubular lower control arms, wiper kit, heater kit and powder coated frame. Also smith's replica gauges.

Quick update. Jim is behind, bad weather and traffic slowing him. He might not make ATL until tonight or tomorrow morning.

PS. BS is an inside joke you just figured out. It is also what my wife calls on me when I am fibbing to her..

Can one of you guys peek at the 818s and let me know if one has "Pete" on it? Stewart said it was loaded but I don't have a delivery date yet.
Thanks!

I hope he's not late to me. I had to take vacation lol.

I didn't figure bs out. I just used it as short hand since it's first two letters of your user name lol

Pete, sorry no car on the truck for you.

Coupe going to FL, two 33's a Roadster and an 818S going to SVTFreak.

Please make sure you have helpers to unload. The driver is responsible, and also busy getting your kit OFF the truck. It is up to you to get it to your garage. He does have an awesome dolly for you to use...

The roadster should be mine. Not the 818 lol.

How late was he getting to you? Said he would call today but never did so I assume he's close to om schedule.

Oops sorry! He was headed to FL, then back up to I-10 and across.

Thanks for checking. Hopefully my 818 will be on a truck headed west this week.

After years on the roadster forums I learned it is common to tip the Stewart driver. Most guys give $50 to $100 and others have given something homemade like cookies or brownies for the drivers who virtually live on their trucks. In our house store-bought is better than home-baked so I'll have 5 $20 bills on hand and will probably give him all $100 for great service, at least that's what I did the last time.

Still waiting to find out what time hell be here today. I'll have to meet him with my trailer as there's no room at my house. I'm jittery! Was gonna be 9am but I know he's running late.

Svtfreak

Just got it home. Jims a nice guy! Tomorrow morning, I'll yank the body and get it off the trailer and into shop. Then build a quick buck for body (last one just sat on concrete till it went on car lol). Then it's inventory time I guess.

I've got to add that my tip to the Stewart driver may be less than anticipated - see above. Now the estimated delivery date is next Monday, Aug. 26, which is 16 days after the 818 kit was ready for pickup at FFR. For $1,800 I expected better service.
Pete

Edit 8/23: After speaking with Jolene at Stewart I found out that one of their 2 drivers qualified to handle FFR kits hurt his back and will be out for several weeks. I understand how that can slow a small business and soften my comment above. They are doing everything they can. I'll pick up my kit from Stewart warehouse in Phoenix on Monday. Yippee.

PeteCertainly NOT the drivers fault. They are just workers like the rest of us. Mine was 45 days late...

Jim was running late to me due to uncontrollable conditions. Weather, traffic, etc.
