Can one of you guys check my "X" for drilling the hole in the hood latch?
How far from edge should it be? 2"?

It should be in the center of the raised rib.

Exactly. I drilled mine base on a published width, which I don't have in front of me at the moment. If you don't drill it before this evening, and no one else gives an answer, I'll measure the distance for you this evening.
But center of the raised rib is where you should drill. most, if not all, also put a 90 degree piece of aluminum on the body side that the latch rests on. Again, I'll take pics tonight.
HTH,

I think its 12 inches from center, so 24 inches apart. Its in the build manual.

Another thing to consider is how well does the hood conform to the body. I know this is a MkIV so should be pretty good. But if the corners are a little high, you can help pull them down by having the latches a little closer to the corners than standard.
