Pulling the tranny

Hi gang:

A friend of mine (with an older Coupe kit) is asking me if you can drop the transmission out of the car without pulling the engine. I told him I did not think it was possible as there is no removable tranny support on the coupe...unlike the current cobra kits.

Was I right?

I can't get mine out but I have a slightly non standard let up (LS engine with TKO600). That is even with the engine forward about 2" from the stock position.

Karen just pulled hers last week to change a broken clutch...it can be done but I gather it was a royal PIA!
