It only took 3 1/2 years, but I finally got to drive the roadster!
Sorry about the shaky video and crappy audio... What's important is that it was a success!

Don't know why I can't *embed* the video...

Very cool! Give us some statistics on that bad boy. I know it's an exciting mile stone for you. Driving with the body on is even funner. Good luck, WEK.

Yeehaa - go for rides as much as you can from now on... they just keep getting better as you get more acquainted with it. Besides, you can justify it as test-and-tuning.

Congrats on your drive.

Just a word of caution. You are, I believe, driving an un registered, licensed and possibly uninsured vehicle on the road. This was the main reason I never took 2290 out for a gokart drive. Never thought it was worth it if the local LEO's saw it.

Enjoy the car.

mikiec, my car is registered, licensed and insured (just no actual plate or lights on the car).
Plus, my road is currently closed due to construction, so there's hardly any traffic on it. Convenient. ;)

Wow, I go away for the weekend to visit my parents and you go-cart your Roadster. I knew you said you were close! Congrats Eric. Looknig forward to parking next to you at some events when you're complete!

Congratulations on reaching the milestone! I am impressed that you had the seat installed and seatbelts (OH, I am the dummy who had neither when I gocarted and hit a building at about 35mph one Saturday. That story is still repeated eight years later out here).

Thanx guyz! Its actually not quite as smooth as it sounds in the video. Some stuff isn't even bolted down all the way. :p

And Mark, I'll DEFINITELY be at The Silver Springs Round Up in January with this car!

Congratulations. The first start and first go kart are so exciting. I don't know about you but after It actually turned slowed and sped up for the first time I was like. Holy Crap I built this! So awesome. Great job.

As others have said it only gets better from here if you can believe that!
