I am having some issues with the small block Chevy install. The two issues are:

1: Transmission mount location and
2: Drive shaft length

I have installed my small block Chevy (GMPerformance RamJet 350) and my transmission (TKO-500) with Lakewood Industries part#15000 bell housing:
20307

It doesn’t appear that the transmission mount is directly over the supporting bracket:
20308

The drive shaft I have seems to be too long. I measured from the end of the transmission to the mounting plate of the drive shaft on the axle. It measured: 36-1/2 inches. The axle I have measures a little more than 37-1/2 inches ( FFR#33869 ).

I have been uploading pictures to a block with pictures if it helps:

Any help or insights would be appreciated, thanks,
-Matthew

I am using a 700R4, and the mount location looks the same on mine. I did have to get a different poly mount as the one they sent was for a Ford, but Autozone had the right one in stock. As far as the driveshaft, yes mine was too long too. A measurement from the rear of the seal to the pinion flange on the rear, a visit to a local driveshaft shop, and $83 later, it fits perfect.

Thanks for the reply, Well, $83 or so isn't too bad. How much did they take out?

Hi. I am using a Chevy Small block fast burn 385 with tremec tko 600. The mounting on the transmission I had to mount it just like you did. And also the driveshaft was too long by almost an inch.
Wondering what did you do with the clutch fork are you using hydraulic?

They took out about 2" I think...also had to get another yoke as the supplied one was too big. Ebay.
