Current project is rebuilding a 1966 mustang coupe and will be putting in a 5.0 EFI engine with 5 speed. I recall seeing a post years ago ( i have been lurking around here since 2002)where a member was making a manifold replacement for the 5.0 EFI engines to give the appearance of being carberated. Does anyone recall this?

I do not think that this is what you are asking about, but I have seen many vintage Mustangs where the carb was pulled off and an EFI unit installed that hides under the stock air filter. It gives the look of carb with the drivability of EFI.

If you really want the carb look with EFI the best way to acheive that is with an EFI carb replacement system. You bolt on a carb manifold and then the EFI throttle body bolts to that. Most of the systems are self learning so you do not have to be an EFI prommaning guru. Systems with fuel (i.e. pump) can run from $1900-2500. I recently upgraded to another EFI system and have my BOSS EFI system for sale. I am only asking for $675. shipped within the lower 48.
Here is a picture of the system.

I love the look and its a great system, very reliable and the car runs great.
