Anyone with installed cats have a video of the car running? I'm looking to reduce the dbl levels and take that last bit of gas small out. Thanks!

Not sure if it will get rid of your gas smell, but it will reduce your noise.

I had to have cats installed to get thru NH inspection. The car was very loud before they were installed, but they quieted it down quite a bit at idle, but its pretty loud under WOT. My car is an LS1 though, not sure what that matters but just saying.

I can snap a video tomorrow and post it once my sidepipes are dry and reinstalled. I also have a video of first start when it had no cats ill post.

Here a video of my 4.6 with CATS at iddle, the soumd is perfect for me! And when you ask for power the sound is still good. I habe the stock stainless pipe from ffr installed.

Mine runs 90 db at iddle and about 100 at 3000 rpm measured with a sound meter.

Enjoy

Great video, thx! Nice color too. Have you noticed the cats taken any of the fuel small away? Where did you get those alum cup holders?

Being a fellow Granite-stater, how complicated or difficult is getting an FFR Roadster road ready for the DMV? I would have thought catalytic converters wouldn't be needed except maybe in Mass. I'm thinking 302, not 351 or 427, if that makes a difference. Still years away, but doing lots of reading and asking questions. Thanks.

Well I dont know about fuel smell but my charcoal canister does the job nicely, my car is always in my indoor garage and we never get fuel smell. As for the cup holder I bought them on e bay from a pocker table manufacturer if i remember correctly around 15$ shipping included. They re perfeçt for a bottle of water or a soda cans nothing bigger then that will fit into them.

Tks for the kind word on the paint we really love it! I always get good comment on the job and imagine that its a DIY jib in a 2 cr garage! Mind you my friend has been painting crs for 39 years so it was his magic touch that sealed the deal!!!

I am not usually much on "trendy" colors for cars. But I have to say, that looks really really nice.

They make you use emissions from the year of the motor, which in my case was 2000.

HOWEVER, the guy at the Exit 6 (Branch St off of rt 3) DMV was the nicest, most lenient guy ever. He basically "took my word" that everything was there. I had a paypal receipt that I sent some guy money for an engine and that was all I had, and when he asked about tranny I said I can get it but he said its ok. He is there every monday from 8Am to 10AM, and the same times on Wednesday up in Manchester.

It's taking a long time to get all the parts together to install the cats and then the unexpected clearance issues with the drivers side foot box and the new shorty headers hitting the oil filter. I'll be glad to get the final spacers, 90 degree oil offset and 02 bung plugs installed. I first had to cut a hole in my foot box to allow about an inch for the new shorty headers to fit and give it an air gap for heat control. Next I fabed and alum template to get the basic dimensions and check for clearances in the foot box. The needed location came out just above the gas peddle. I'm still not crazy about how close it is. Then I cut and installed the alum box. Now that I could clear the foot box I was just hitting the oil filter! Mike Forte has a 90 degree offset in the mail. In the mean time the filter was removed and header installed. The CATs went on with included hardware very well. The CATs are two different lengths. The longer one goes on the drivers side..... guess how long it took to figure that out! It would have been helpful to have some basic instructions that said to prep to cut the foot box, offset the oil filter and put the longer CAT on the drivers side. This is all pretty simple, but discovery learning isn't. The best way I found to get the CATs on was the keep them a little loose, holding up the side pipes at the right horz level and the right distance from the paint tighten the two CAT bolts to the headers locking it in place. Now you can see how many CAT to header spacers you may need. I have several on and still several more. I suspect most folks this "gap" will be different for everyone as the angle of the engine, final location of the well wells, header manufacture..... will have have a impact. I've about 1 1/4 inches of spacers on the passenger side and still need 1/4 to 1/5 inch. Each spacer on the passenger side needed to be the angled style (also heard call wedges). I also need about 1 inch on the drivers side. If anyone else has pics of their CATs install I'd like to compare. More info and pics as I get further along.
