Guys, I'm using a donor mustang and harvested all that I need, now am selling the carcass that was a Mustang 5.0.

When I sell it and give title to new owner - just wondering if this will complicate my registration of the roadster down the road if I do not have the donor title?

Thoughts or experience please.

Bill 3422 is going through h-ll right now because his engine doesn't have any numbers on it and the trans has a number that doesn't match the copy of the title he had when he did what your are doing 6 or so years ago. I don't know if you need to keep the title, but I'd definitely have a copy of it especially if your engine and trans numbers match the vin.

Wow, that looked like a clean Fox LX convertible you started with. Sorry to say, sort of a shame (coming from a Fox owner of 23 years)...

I would suggest posting on the NE forums on both sites to find out what the real details are on NY registration and titling so you can be prepared and have/keep the proper documentation. Ensure the engine has the last eight of the VIN stamped in it (top of block behind the intake) that matches the VIN of the car. That'll show original engine or not, which might give you a problem with DMV...

EDIT: BTW, any chance you have the gauge cluster "surround" still? Mine is all cracked and damaged and they are long since out of production with no repros yet. Also, my buddy with a '92 5.0: notch is looking for a good gauge cluster to replace his tach (someone installed a four-cylinder tach before he bought it)...

I sold the donor '94 SVT Cobra that I used (I didn't take many parts) to a friend who turned it into a track car. I kept a copy of the title (gave him the original that I had) and made sure to list all of the parts I kept on the receipt that we both signed - two originals of the receipt. That way, I have a record of where my drivetrain parts came from.
