We are building our roadster with the 4 link rear axle. Instead of using the stock Mustang upper and lower control arms, I would like to use tubular arms. Any suggestions on which ones to use? Thanks, Harold

That's one thing you won't find a shortage of variety. Of course, all the big names like Summit, Speedway, JEGS, carry them. But there are suspension specialist vendors on this forum who can help you with your needs. I have a 4 link too and used the FFR tubulars. I think I will eventually get some adjustable ones if I stay with this setup. You should consult the experts on that. One of the first things they will say is what are you going to do with it? Good luck, WEK.

I have the FFR upper and lowers on my Mk3, along with the FFR Koni coilovers. I haven't had to adjust anything. Pinion angle came in right where it was supposed to. I only use it for street driving, cruising, etc. I'm very pleased with how it rides and handles. It's a proven setup.

Do yourself a favor and talk with Gordon Levy @ Levy Racing. His adjustable lowers are a good start for a 4-link set-up.

I have Gordon's 5-link installed in my Mk4 build. I'm assuming the lowers he would use in the 4-link are the same provided with his 5-link setup. If so, I agree. Those are some nice pieces. They have Heim joints on both ends, plus he uses a spacer setup that removes a lot of the offset and gets them nearly parallel front/back.

The FFR lowers a pretty good. The plastic bushings look like the usual two piece jobs but they are not, they are three piece. In the center is a ring maybe 5/8" wide that is super hard plastic. The outers are somewhat softer plastic. this was the hard ring takes most of the load and the outer rings allow the car to roll more freely. I think they are a good step up from Ford full rubber bushings.

Over the winter I installed the Maximum Motorsports Extreme Duty rear lower control arms and I could not be more impressed and happy. The performance upgrade has been significant and I notice improvements with take offs, cornering and general suspension. I did not (recommended by MMS) have to change the upper control arms and I eliminated the need for the rear quad shocks which improved tire clearance. I can send pics if anyone would like.
