Placed the body on my Mk4 over the weekend and for the most part the actual placement was easy. My problems are with the gap at the rear wall of the interior, the dash and the sides.

See the picture for the rear wall.

Does the dash go behind or in front of the lip on the body? Right now the dash is off.

The sides are not going all the way down so they can tuck underneath.

My general observation is the body needs to move forward, however the aluminum in the trunk won't let that happen. Any thoughts on what I've done wrong?

The body was on the frame for shipping and should fit fine with the aluminum mounted once the body is properly aligned. Some builders temporarily mounted the aluminum panels that meet the body before removing the body so any trimming of the aluminum panels would have been completed before removing the body. I did not have to trim any aluminum off any of the panels on my Mk 4 and the body fit is nearly perfect all around - so I imagine yours should be similar.

The fit will be snug but it looks like the body needs to move forward ~ 1 inch to fit properly over the rear cockpit aluminum. The dash aluminum will also fit under the rounded body lip cockpit.

Note - proper alignment is important as the roll bars will need to fit through the cut outs for proper fitment. I found that some minor trimming of the role bar holes in the body was needed but all in all the role bar hole locations provided by FFR are very close. The role bars also provide additional confirmation that the body is positioned properly .

As for the sides, you will need to make sure the body is sitting properly on the frame and aluminum and the sides will slip into place.

The body will also need to be properly positioned (centered) over the frame of the engine bay

Good luck
