If I remember correctly, the pickup is closest to the sending unit, and you'll re-use one of the nylon plugs to block off the open bung.

Look in the hole. You can see the tube for the pickup.

Ok...well this may be another stupid question but any idea what kind of fitting I use? ...since its not the same kind of pickup as the factory tank.

Ok...well this may be another stupid question but any idea what kind of fitting I use? ...since its not the same kind of pickup as the factory tank. That depends on if you are using the fuel lines and such from the kit or using aftermarket ones. Most who use the boyd tank use aftermarket fittings. Take one of the plugs to your local speed shop they can help you out. Also look at other guys build posts for ideas.

The pickup is not open into the tank, you can see the tube. Both use a 3/8 NPT fitting. I used a 90 degree to -6 AN fitting, to braided hose to a 3/8 alum hard line ran to my fuel pump. On the return line since I did not need it, I used a 3/8 alum plug. Let me know if you want to see pics.
Here's a big hint. If you are not using the return, install a 90* fitting and a plug. You never know if you will need it one day.
Two weeks ago I had to add a return line on my finished HR. I was really happy that the 90* fitting was already in the tank.

#4 is the return for EFI application. Yes, it can be capped.
