View Full Version : The Garage and Tools are ready but the suspense is killing me!

Hello All.

Just got off the phone with Stewart Transportation. My MK-IV kit will be ready on August 10th and Stewart will be picking it up somewhere between the 12th and the 16th. I am ready to GO!

What is your build plan?

Not so much years, just months lol. Thats what I keep doing, checking the manual, checking the forums. The build will be a donor 5.0L factory fuel injection, new t-5 transmission and an 8.8" rear with 3.55 gears. Strictly a "Lets get ice cream" ride for my two sons.


I bet it already feels like the longest month ever. Congrats and good luck!

My 818 is scheduled to ship the same day - August 10. Your info does not show location but we may be on the same Stewart truck. Tick, tock, tick, tock.

My mk4 is scheduled to ship same day also! Maybe we all sharing that truck. Big huge Christmas sleigh it sounds like to me.

I feel your pain. My 33 will be ready to ship next Monday. They delivered a storage building today, tomorrow I move the last few pieces of machinery into it. The garage will be ready.

I talked to Stewart Friday and she told me I was next to last on the truck, probably late in the week. She did tell me he had a Kentucky stop though. :D

Actually, its probably a good thing. It is soooo freaking hot here I would not want to be in the garage working right now. Hopefully we get cool weather when the project arrives.

Got a call from the Stewart driver today, he said to look for him Saturday morning. Gonna be a long four days waiting. I did celebrate and order my wheels and tires today.

Yep, that is one of the major plans. I have two sons, one is 13 going on 18, the other is 9. They will be an integral part of the build. My wife just wants a ride in the Roadster when its finished. As far as the friends go, not many of them are gear heads so I do not expect they will be too interested but they are always welcome.

Pictures to come starting next week! I am taking next week off to build some shelving for the garage and a body buck. I also need to rip down plywood to 16" X 48" planks. I need to use these for the roadster delivery. Our driveway is over 100 yards long and at the moment, it is all gravel.

Spoke with the driver this afternoon. He'll be here in the morning and his next stop is Kentucky. Gonna be a sleepless night.

Yep, it will be. Wait till you get it in the garage and hug and hold it. You will love it!!!

Get lots of pics and especially of them opening up the truck and your car sitting in there. Some of our favorites. Especially when your done with the car, they are really cool to look back at!

Thanks, after watching and reading your threads/videos, I do have my camera sitting on go. This has been something I have meaning to do for over 20 years.
