818 powertrain wins at Pikes Peak

My son Mike and I are on the Lightning Motorcycle Race team. I'm the propulsion guy. We made history by being the first electric powered vehichle to beat all the gas polluting motorcycles at a major international motorsports event. Our rider Carlin Dunne ran a 10:00.694. The fasest gas bike was a Ducati Multistrada 1200 S ridden by Bruno Langlois, who came in at 10:21.

I am going use a lot of the same components in my 818. My Delivery is in August.

Wow that's great. Is pikes peak 100 Tarmac now? If not how was running in the dirt? I ran mount Washington hillclimb years ago.

I was laughing more at the "scrap" parts. 90% of the stuff I make is from the scrap pile. That, and it'd be awesome to have a $50k 818Se for less than the price of most peoples 818S/R.

My build budget is is between 15k and 40k
The wide range is based on using ev parts (motors, controllers, bms, and batteries) I already have or buying latest battery technology.
Range = Battery$$
Performance= Initial goal is stock wrx performance.
I willl publish specs as components get finalized.

Bob, by "stock WRX performance", do you mean from a true OEM WRX with a WRX chassis or an 818 with a stock WRX engine?

Sebastien Loeb in the Red Bull was the fastest car. He shattered the record by almost a minute.
