Because I am on the tall side and will be running high back Kirkey seats, I want to add a harness bar rather than have the saftey belts run through the rear bulkhead. I want to weld in a bar between the two front legs of each roll bar (similar to what the ********** bolt on kit does, but welded). Does anyone know what type tubing the FFR rollbar is made of? Ideally, I would like the harness bars to be the same material.

Thanks guys,

Should be DOM seamless, but call them to get the actual material type and thickness

FrProduct Description"

"Our roll bars are made with the same quality steel as our frames, grade 1020 .120" wall 2 inch drawn over mandrel tubing. The DOM tubing is seamless for extra strength. Our roll bars are functional and tied into main frame rails. The bars come with all mounting hardware needed for installation on to one of our Roadsters."

Cheers, Dale

Since you have a MKIV I believe the material in 1.5" OD, not 2". I'm sure FFR would give you the info to be sure so you could call them or start a thread over on the tech forum.

OR, I could move this one over there, if you want.

Sure, in the spirit of not duplicating threads, please feel free to move this over there, Dave. I didn't even think about looking at their website or posting in the FFR Tech section. I know I have the 1.5" bars, and it looks like their website says what it is, but will wait on an FFR Tech to answer in the tech section. If I don't hear from them on this thread, I'll give them a buzz. Thanks for the help

Size of roll bars doesn't matter:D. What size harness bars are you thinking of? 5/8" or 3/4"?

Plan is to use the same material and size as the ffr roll bar.
