Can someone provide me the distance from the F panel to the piston rod on the hood hinge installation?

I want to install electrical components on the top of the F panel but want to make sure they will not interfere with the pistons when the hood is installed.

PS I have the basic kit so I did not get the hinge/piston assembly but will probably be ordering it if there is not a suitable alternative.

Here is a photo from the complete manual showing the distances I need. Thanks in Advance, Carl

Mine is 3 1/2 inches from the panel to the ball stud on the both sides. If you mount your stuff below the plane of the hinge assembly, you should be fine, I have stuff on the PS panel

Hope this helps

John,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Could you give the measurement from the assembly to the top of the square tube?
Or would I be safe just making sure I am below the hinge bracket on the frame? ... Since I do not have the hinge assembly on hand.

With the nature of the hinge design, I'm not sure you can rely on my measurements, on the DS, my horizontal hinge plate is just below the 3/4 tube, on the PS I'm almost an inch below the tube. Staying below the bracket would seem a safe bet.
