View Full Version : MK IV: Spindles supporting ABS?

It appears that the front spindles supplied with my MK IV complete kit (arrived yesterday) do not support ABS (where to install ABS sensors?) even though the hubs come with ABS exciter rings installed. Is this correct?

If so, Is there a mod I can do to the existing spindles to support ABS? If not, would the front spindles #14507 support ABS, and would they work with the MK IV components?

Cheers, Dale

Hi Dale,

Our spindles don't have the brackets for those sensors, but I imagine you could just fabricate some sort of bolt-on bracket that could hold the sensor where it needs to be. I haven't seen it done, but I imagine you'd just need something that is very rigid.

The 14507 spindles would also work with the Mk4 components, although you wouldn't be able to use the newer-style upper arm mount geometry, which is a nice improvement over the earlier chassis.

Curious to hear what you end up deciding!

take care,
