Get the chassis as high as is practical (make sure your jackstand placement won't interfere with the hoist legs as you roll it into position) with the nose down and tail up. An engine leveler makes it much easier and turns it into a 10 minute one man job.

Good luck!

x2 on what Jeff said. Will be difficult without an engine leveler. I installed mine by myself. Once the end of the trans got close to the floor, I let it rest on a floor jack. As the engine lowered, the rollers on the jack allowed the engine to move back. I would drop the engine a few inches and then raise the floor jack/trans a few inches. Engine was in place in less than 30 minutes.

Good luck. Getting to this part of the project is a huge milestone.

I haven't posted this in a while, but thought you might enjoy it since it is on the subject!

It really is a one or two man job, but doing the work out in the open got all the neighbors involved! LOL

It is hard to believe that almost seven years have past since then, how time fly's by these days! I get the same response when I open my garage door, lots of neighbors show up to "help".
