Greetings! I'm doing the SAI thang to the Mk II and just noticed that I've got the welded lug on the same (left) side of both ball joint plates, putting it at the back on the passenger side and the front of the driver's side.

Is this a problem? I figure I should be able to get the same position for the ball joint with respect to the inner ends of the arms. I just can't remember whether the ball joints came assembled on the arms when I opened the boxes ten years ago. Can the ball joints screw in from either side of the plate?

Also, does anyone know what the part number for the ball joints is if I have to replace them?

Thanks!

John

The manual for the early UCR said to make them the same with the solid part to the front but the later UCA have the ball joints welled in at an angle and you have one solid part to the front and the other one to the rear. It shouldn’t make any difference which way they go except for looks.

This was posted earlier.
The ball joints come from an early 70's Chrysler E body.... Challenger/ Cuda

FFR replaced the first set with AFCO 20034.

$21 from Jegs AFCO 20034

It's a little hard to tell from the engle of the pic but some of the balljoint plates haev the balljoints at a 10 degree angle to the plate.. If your s are those you can't flip them. I wouldn't bother anyway as this is pretty common. The only problem I have seen is w/ some calipers the bolt/nut would interfere on one side at full lock. Since you haven't had that problem yet, you will be fine.
