View Full Version : The 818R: Donor parts and differences?

A search doesn't turn much up on this subject. Realizing not much information is available to us yet, I am nonetheless hunting for data regrading which donor parts are needed if one is building an 818R. Mine is ordered, and it will be a track-only car. I have a pallet ordered with 818Donors. But, since FF and others will be offering certain racing aftermarket parts I would rather have than the stock parts, and since I don't want to either order donor parts unnecessarily or miss out on doing so when I get my pallet, it would be great to know. I presume the build manual will have this info when it is available, but just wondered if any of you have knowledge on this subject. Thanks in advance for any help.

Bill

That is exactly why I am " piecing" my 818R together. New suspension bits, not donor parts. I don't want to risk racing on parts that could be possibly damaged.

Then there is the upgraded parts thing like you mention.

I am 3rd in agreement. My kit is November so lots of time (kinda). Might do JDM motor but warranty is 30 days from delivery so not ordering until car is a roller.

Sooo... Your 1969 911 race car has all new parts? :)

Out of curiosity, where are you sourcing your JDM from?

I have bought 3 engines from jdm racing motors Canada, all were great engines

Excellent, I had them on my list of engines if I decide to get a JDM.
Besides, it's a 20mins ride for me to get the engine. :) No shipping, I like that. It's worth quite some money!

Just about :) . I didn't pick a smashed donor to build it either. Haha
