Q: Can you buy someone's place in line?
A: No. It says on the pre-order form that your spot is not transferrable. The best you can do is buy someone's kit after they take delivery.

Q: Where are the headlights sourced from?
A: 2001-2006 Camry, specifically the SE edition (black headlight housings).

Some things that come to mind, are

What tools should I buy and what tools should I rent?

Do I have the skills to complete a kit?

I think I've seen issues like this addressed here and there on this forum, but I don't have the links yet.

Might be good to note that the '04 STi could be a partial donor, since it is 5X100 and you could use the hubs, knuckles, and brakes...primarily need to source transmission, clutch, and flywheel I believe.

Also would be helpful to just run down the basic difference in the standard donors. IE 02-05 WRX = EJ205, 06-07 EJ255, 06 has aluminum control arms. I don't recall which versions had the 4 pot/2 pot combo.

Links to various threads on CoPart auctions, and basically "how to source a donor" would be nice for some.

Narrow/Wide track differences. Donor cars for each. FFR accommodation for each.

A section on "What you will need to do to register in _____ state" would be nice, even if continually ongoing. For example... the currently missing catalytic convertor will get you red flagged in California, we in California will have to redo the FFR provided exhaust. Many other states have lighting, safety, sound, and wiper rules too.

It might be useful to know that '03-'04 NA Impreza (and Impreza -based) ECU's cannot be reflashed. If reflashing is desired, it will be necessary to replace the ECU with and '02, '05, '06, or '07. Probably the engine harness as well.

Why should I (or shouldn't I) shell out $399 for powder coating?

There is already a thread started for that, which could just link the FAQ to. The thread was intedned to cover all states, and several people weighed in on the regs for their state. But last I recall, it was not 50 state complete. If we link the FAQ to it, I imagine all 50 states would get filled in soon enough.

That is covered here:

A link in the FAQ would be a good idea, I think.

I had intended such to be covered in this thread:
http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?4393-DMV-Vehicle-Registration-Information-Thread

But we could move it. I don't really care where the info is located, but I do think it's best to keep it all in one place.

I added that info to the Donor Parts Guide (link 2 posts above).

How about something on the body panels:
* Do you need paint?
* What are they made of?
* What happened to the thermoplastics panels? Will they eventually be available?
* How does paintless gel-coat wear and last? Additional maintenance?
* What are the color options? right now? future?
* Can they be modified? If so, would that require painting them?
* Will the builder need to do any cut-outs?

What tools should I buy and what tools should I rent?

I don't know that you can rent much of this. Maybe the engine hoist but that's only $100 at HF when it's on sale. Here's what the beta manual has listed for tools needed.

SAE and metric socket set, a 52-piece set is a good choice
Deep sockets for some common sizes are helpful.
SAE Combination wrench set (⅜”- 15/16”)
Metric combination wrench set (7mm – 24mm)
A set of standard and Phillips head screwdrivers
Standard and Metric Hex key sets
Long nose pliers, 4.5”
Snap ring pliers
Tin Snips
Drill
Drill bits (#30, #11, 3/32”-½” standard drill bits)

Jig saw (Body cut outs)
Torque wrench (Click style, ⅜” or ½”drive)
Eye protection
Bucket
Cordless drill (w/clutch helpful, 14-18 volt units are best)
#6 hex driver attachment for cordless drill
Adapter for cordless to use ¼” socket driver
Flare nut wrenches (⅜” & 7/16”)
Flat file and round file
Ratchet wrenches

Added TONS of Questions, and a bit on the answers. I could use some more info on some of the answers though. or just links. PLEASE read through and suggest changes on them. (here, not there) if we keep this going the FAQ can be a REAL time/lifesaver for us.

How about a section with popular modifications, such as body mods or mods done to simplify future maintenance?

The typical ordering process.

Right now FFR hasn't kept up with the website ordering process, which has left me wondering if I place a deposit if I can later add/change options. I know I want to reserve a place in line but I haven't got the exact specs of my donor. Plus I know more options will become available as time goes on and FFR catches up from the release.

From what other's have said, you can absolutely change your options later. I would get your spot in line ASAP.
