Some time ago it was said that we needed to shorten the dash pods or pod so the door interior would close without pushing on the dash. I have GTM 284 do I need to shorten both dash pods or just one of them? Any information would be helpfull.
Thanks
Leonard

Shane (vraptor speedworks) is a vendor here and is an EXPERT at that. My guys did that to the black gen 1 car we had here for a while, but they will not be in til monday.

How much needs to be taken off each pod for the right gap?
Thanks

Hi Leonard,

Your best bet is to mock it up and see how it fits together first, because I don't think that all of them needed it. Once you have the dash components in place and the doors mounted & able to close, you can assess whether or not there is enough space for the door liner to be attached onto the door without narrowing the dash. Without mocking everything up first, it would be a bit of a guessing game. Let me know how it works out.

Thanks,

On the cars I've done here, I take basically as much as I can off both the RH and LH dash pods without getting into the vent profile.......usually ends up to be about 5/8". Believe me, you're not going to take off too much. Even with taking off 5/8" off both pods, the door panels usually still touch the dash with the doors closed.

Best to take your time at it. Peel back the covering just past where you need to make the cut and mask between the fg and covering so that as you cut, you don't get a bunch of fg shavings under the covering as it will show thru when you glue it back down.

Has this been addressed on the new stitched GenII dash parts?
