Rough weekend, I was having issues at the last NASA event with shifting , had same issue on Friday practice and qualifying, the clutch cable was loose again, so tighten that again on Friday night went to take the green flag on Saturday and went into 3rd and no 3rd and almost had a Lola up my backend. So spent Saturday pulling transmission and Steve Powell was running with me and he had a space so we took this one out and switched the tail shafts and mine had a broken shift fork and a broken main shaft (never seen that before), looks like it broke before it goes into input shaft, I also broke a j-pipe and Tom Ryan was there so he took it home to weld and we were good to go Sunday, so practice was fun, Steven and I going at it and then race time was fine and then half way through the race the clutch pedal wen half way to floor and thus I could not shift and had to remain in 3rd and then by the time race finished I had no clutch, looks like the cable broke or came off and thus that seems to have been the adjustment issues I had the past weekend. Now to figure out the clutch cable issue and the transmission on what to do with this transmission.

Ha, Snapped my main shaft this weekend as well. Looks like my 10 year old T5WC wasn't up to the tak.

That's too freaky ! I have to decide what to do here, I'm not a transmission person, I can do a S10 tail shaft switch but never done a rebuild and don't know anyone here in the NW that does rebuilds on the side. I also don't really want to shell out $1700 for a new T5z.

I got a chance to look at the clutch issue and seems the adjuster nut at the fork backed out again and then the cable pooped of the quadrant. I don't understand why this is happening, also I cant understand how to actually tighten the locknut as there is no room to get a socket in there.

I am probably going with either a Tremec 3550 or TKO500 and be done with it. I like where John's shifter is better than mine, and I know the Tremecs can take the new torque.

Thought about that but that means new bell housing, new drive shaft and 40lbs additional weight and about $2400

Found a used output shaft so getting T5 fixed, the spare I have in there now has syncro issues as it grinds, will be glad to get the old T5 back in.

All true, but the new power is really at the limit for the T5 WC
