I am installing a Coyote engine and I'm getting ready to run the fuel lines. I have a 255 in tank fuel pump with 3/8 inch outlet tube and a 1/4 inch return inlet tube. I have a Mallory competition Fuel pressure regulator part #4305M, my plan was to use 3/8 inch SS tubing to supply the regulator and a 1/4 inch return back to the tank. I read the instruction from Mallory which you can also read on the Mallory Ignition website that you need to use a 3/8 inch line for up to a 500 HP motor which I am going to use but it also says that return line needs to be 3/8 inch up to 45 gal/hr (170 liter/hr). I was going to use a 1/4 inch return line because that is what the in tank fuel pump plumbing is.. Anyone have an opinion on this?
Thanks

I have the Aeromotive #13301 as recommended in the FFR Coyote parts required list. Instructions also recommend 3/8" return line size for our application.

I'm assuming that the complete Coyote kit come with 3/8" fuel lines.

I used the Aeromotive as above, and used the fuel lines that came with my Mk4 kit - 3/8" feed and 1/4" return. Absolutely no issues - over 1500 trouble free miles so far.

I painted the fuel lines with a silver paint before installing.

I am using the same aeromotive regulator, with the 3/8 and 1/4 fuel lines. 700 miles so far, last 200 track miles with lots of 7000 rpm WOT blasts to 140 mph. Zero fuel supply issues. I don't think you'll have any problem on the street!

Sounds like a "no issue". Thanks. One less thing to worry about.

Hi Dan,

I have the same fuel pressure regulator and coyote engine setup. I have also run the 1/4" return and 5/16" fuel line supplied by Factory Five. I'm having a hard time actually hooking up the fuel pressure regulator. The bottom of the 4305 is the return and is a -8 AN plug. I can't seem to find a -8 AN to 1/4" barb. How did you set yours up?

Thanks, Jim

I installed 3/8 inch Stainless steel hard line from the fuel filter to the regulator and also the return line is 3/8 inch hard Stainless. I only used Stainless flex line from the between the filter and in tank pump and short piece to the 3/8 inch bulk head fitting in drill into the top of the tank..

For the record: I ordered the Complete MKIV kit with the Coyote option, The Coyote kit from FFR does not come with any fuel lines. The complete kit comes with 5/16" inlet and 1/4" return. Although it looks like these would be perfectly sufficient per the comments above, I decided to spend the extra $50 and upgrade to 3/8" return and inlet, not running yet so can;t say how it worked out, but install was easy.
