Bill Loeffler's coupe got paint!

All,

Bill's coupe got paint recently and he got his baby home. Needles to say I'm stinkin' jealous because she's gorgeous.

Snakebit31 - Wheels are powder coated. If I had to do it over again I would paint the wheels as the powder coating process was extremely time consuming and would have been very expensive had I not had an in with the powder coating company. To mask off the aluminum part was tedious with the special temperature sensitive tape.

tcarlson - Paint colors are the original Gaurdsman Blue and I opted for a very bright white - Chrysler Artic White. The stripes are spaced 7" - 1" - 7" and the space around the meatball is 1/2". Taping circles are not fun, so I made it easy on my painter and purchased a pair of 20" static cling decals and he taped around them. Worked perfect. 1 coat primer sealer, 3 coats base blue 4 coats white, stripes retaped and 1 coat blue again. Made it much easier to reduce the ridge between the white and blue. To the touch you cannot feel the difference. Followed by 4 coats clear. German paint - Spies Hecker at $591.21/gallon. Paint guy swears by it. It does pop in the sun.
