Dave and all at Factory Five,

Thank you for the wonderful Open House that you hosted. The white 818S unveiling was spectacular.

While my personal obsession is my upcoming 818SR build it is impossible to ignore the huge number of other gorgeous Factory Five cars which were driven to this show.

It was great to meet so many of the people in person (both Factory Five people, forum administrators, members & vendors) who have been so helpful to our community. Some of you i have had the pleasure of meeting before and some it was the first time today.

Jim, Jesper and the whole 818 team has so much to be proud of. I am excited to begin my build in September.

Thank you Factory Five for bringing your passion to work for our enjoyment. And today most of all, thank you for being such gracious hosts!

Steve

The curves in the front don't always show in many photos

Where does the exhaust exit? Is there a muffler?

From those photos it doesn't look like there is a muffler.

Hi wallace18,

There is no muffler, just a catted downpipe. The cat had been removed on the 818R while left in place on the 818S. It sounds good to me.

The exhaust pipe exits nearly hidden under from the rear facade on the passenger side as seen in the center photo. Both adapters come with the kit, The upper turbo to downpipe converter is a flat blank-off plate which covers the turbo bypass similar to the stock Subaru downpipe. Metalmaker is developing a custom exhaust for the 818 as a product/service to the community.

Metalmaker,

It was nice to see you again and to meet your dad today. Best wishes on your 818 business launch!

Cheers!

I really like this picture. Any chance I can get the original to crop for background images?

Thanks AMW1011,

I had to downsize the photo because of the forum limit on file size. This photo was taken with a cellphone, but David Hodgkins was taking similar photos with a real camera. Perhaps he will post some of his really nice photos at high resolution using his administrator super powers. I expect the limit is to keep the servers from drowning in pixels given the super high resolution cameras available today.

David,

Thanks for the tour of some seat options David. My son and I enjoyed meeting you today!

Cheers!

What about just uploading to photobucket and copying the image code and pasting it here. They show up here on the forum and are high-rez. I've done that with all my pics and they're nice and crisp and a whole lot more than the 2 MB (:D)! Someone here on the forum actually taught me how to do that!

Great to run into everyone that I could catch up with before I had to take off a bit early...was really awesome how friendly everyone at FFR is, and how excited they are about the cars too. I got home and used Wayne's method for removing cam gears and was able to get the last stubborn one out! Worth the trip just for that! Glad you guys are talking about the downpipe and how to make that more of a bellmouth. Seeing how much of a different than can make with a stage 2 car, it's definitely going to be worthwhile.
