Has anyone used Auburn's Coyote pedal bracket to ease installation of the supplied FRPP pedal?

http://www.auburncustoms.com/shop/fox-coyote-pedal-bracket/

Feedback?

I was thinking of trying this or - as an alternative to the FRPP pedal - using Lokar's DBW pedal module and pedal to completely replace the FRPP pedal.

I haven't used one but have been looking at it thinking it would be easier to mount the FRPP pedal in my Hot Rod, I need to check to see if i can mount it on the vertical part of the firewall. If you get one, let us know how it works out.

thanks,
Nevin

See FFCars similar thread; looks easy to make your own. I'll probably end up splurging on the Lokar alternative DBW set-up.

I used the Lokar DBW pedal in my coupe, and fabbed a bracket from 1/8" aluminum. The biggest problem is the FRPP pedal ia WAY too long. When I used the Lokar pedal it was much better, but I still had to cut off the bottom 1" of the pedal because it hung up on the floor tube at full excursion. Not great to have the throttle stuck down all the way to the floor! Check out my build thread at coyote competition coupe first 1-2 pages there is a photo of the Lokar pedal install.

Thanks. Now I know someone has used it successfully.

When I reviewed the pedal instal instructions, I did not like the idea of cutting the pedal arm or the pedal as I wanted a more stock look and I wanted the pedal response to be as intended by FRPP. After much consideration and trial fitment, I modified the pedal support so the pedal could be mounted without cutting the pedal arm or having to cut the pedal itself. The pedal mount is modified to mount in place however attention is needed to be sure no interference with the steering column shaft and shimmed accordingly to give proper pedal angle. In addition, I needed to provide additional room in the footbox aluminum (2") for the drivers gas pedal foot. The foot box mod will be required regardless of the solution chosen

I have approx 2000 mi on my roadster and this setup works great.
However, If future pedal Maintenance is required - may not be easy with this install

Good luck

I tried an experiment today - I took a newer Focus gas pedal out of a car, and hooked it up to the Coyote control pack to see what would happen. My car is not in the running stage yet, but I do have power all hooked up.
keyed on and VIOLA! throttle plate is moving in response to the Focus pedal.

Here is the good part. the size of the Focus pedal is pretty good for the application. It is thin, shorter, and only a small bends in the pedal. Still will need a bracket fabbed up; but if it works, I think maybe cutting the pedal arm etc might be able to be totally avoided.

I am a while out from running condition to know if this will work with no issues. I have an email in to Ford Racing to see their thoughts on this as well.

Here's my Lokar DBW install. Made a 6" x 4" 16ga steel bracket for the unit and attached it to the FFR pedal bracket. Bracket is slotted horizontal and vertical for up-down/side-to-side adjustment.

If you build a plate (Like Jester did, I believe) you can avoid cutting the pedal or the arm. You'll need to trim the upper portion of the pedal control piece, but it works.

The Auburn bracket appears to be plug-n-play? http://www.auburncustoms.com/shop/fox-coyote-pedal-bracket/

Doesnt a mounting bracket come in the complete kit for the coyote pedal?

Yes it does: Zip-Lock bag #15430 in the Coyote Fitment box. Pretty hefty piece.21204212052120621207
