I'm using the FF Gauge set. Everything seems to be working fine, except I'm getting a 14-15amp reading on the voltage gauge. Given that I've got a 12v battery, I'm wondering how I might have pulled that off. I'd assume it should read 12v at most. Any thoughts on what I might have done here to get this unexpected reading?

Are you reading 14-15 VDC from the battery with engine off or with it running? If running, you are reading the alternator output to the Batt which is typical in the 14 to 15 VDC range.

Sounds like it's reading alternator output, which is what I would think you'd want so you know what sort of voltage the battery is getting. My wife's old Camaro just had a low charge condition (missing a ground on the old school voltage regulator) and it was putting out only around 9.5 volts. Unfortunately the voltage meter wasn't working in the car, either, so the only way we knew it was slowly draining the battery was the fact that the headlights would get dimmer and the turn signals would cycle a bit slower as the batter voltage dropped over time. I was just putting it on a charger once a week and that kept up the battery, but now that we added the ground and fixed the voltage meter, it's showing a steady 14v on average.

Thanks. I suspected I was probably reading the alternator output, which with Chris's response, provides me with the logic to justify why I did it that way! I'm not going to mess with it.
