Some may have the info from another source already, but Team PDG tested with another legendary race car driver this weekend and signed him up for the 2013 25 Hours Of Thunderhill!

I'll give a couple hints...

He's an ex-Formula 1 test driver for Benneton and one of only 12 Americans to have ever won Le Mans.

All the criteria seems to fit John Herbert via Google search.

What do I win?!

A driver that can drive an F1 car at all is impressive. Someone who was a test driver.. Yet another level. Has raced in Le Mons. Impressive. Won Le Mons.. Amazing.

I might need to take a trip out there to see the GTM win the 25 hr in person.

last year, team PDG had the honor and privilege to have a 24 Le mans pilot driving the 25 hour race. Who would think it could get any better than having an icon like Elliott Forbes-Robinson in the seat of a home built kit car. Elliott has also won 24 hours of Daytona and various Can-Am championships to name a few. What I saw at a test session, the team did it again. Davy Jones, a 24 Lemans winner, in fact the last American to win the overall, and 24 Daytona overall winner, has agreed to drive the 25 with the team. There is no doubt that the GTM has something to offer that these gentlemen see that we may never know or understand in the world of top class motorsports. When professional drivers offer names of their friends that are interested in teaming up, it would make you feel that you have accomplished virtually the impossible dream in this competitive sport.

Yes, Davy Jones is the new driver for Team PDG for the 2013 25 Hours Of Thunderhill.

We are all very honored to work with such a storied professional.

That said, we are still an amateur team with no substantial monetary sponsorship. In other words, the expenses come out of our own pockets.

Every year people donate funds to our racing program, and every year we state on the forums that we could not do it without you. That is the truth. Every little bit helps, so if you would like to have your name on the Mendeola Transaxles, Baja Designs, FFR PDG GTM for 2013, please see here...

All people donating will receive some sort of gift as our way of saying "thank you for your support". That may be a tee shirt, an autographed picture, or even a tool or product that the team uses.

The effort, and the budget, keeps increasing every year, and I think I speak for the entire team when I say THANK YOU!!
