I'm currently working on building a roadster for/with my buddy Aaron (he found a barely started mid-run Mk3 last year which we subsequently completely disassembled before beginning the build anew from the ground up). Yesterday was engine install day and "indy14" Steve came by to visit and help out. At some point during the afternoon we realized that we had a photo opportunity:

L-R; Mk4 #7276 that I built for Steve and put on the road 2 years ago this month, the body shell of Aaron's Mk3 #5171 expected to be running in gelcoat in a few weeks and my Mk3 #5946 which has been on the road for 5 years this month.

Engine install went off without a hitch going from this...

...in about 20 minutes. The morning began with a law enforcement officer stopping by to sign off on the paperwork and affix the VIN to the chassis meaning that the only thing left to complete registration and make it all legal is to pay the taxes!

It was a good day :)

Nice job Jeff! Why is it that when I visit Indy it's always during the cold non-driving months?

I might come up for the big MCA National though in Aug. I'll keep you in the loop if I do!

Absolutely Mark! What's it been, 3 or 4 years that we've been trying to connect either when you're up here or I'm down there? Hopefully the stars (and our schedules) will align this time!
