I have approx. 1000 miles on my roadster and I am planning to send in for body and paint soon. I will be changing fluids this weekend and adjusting rear ride height up by 1/2 inch. Went to the alignment shop last week to double check my initial alignment and the alignment guy told me that I had it pretty much dialed in and that only 2 very minor adjustments were needed (1/4 turn on 1 side and 1/2 turn on the other). I followed the procedures as outlined on the forum - so thanks for those who posted the details on alignment
I have aligned the doors / hood and trunk as a preliminary fit however I was wondering if there are any recommendations for sealing (bulb seal?) the doors / hood and trunk to get a better fit and eliminate vibration when sealed. I do not have any seals around he doors and used the grommet type spacers for the hood (bulb seal used as supplied for the trunk). I assume there must be better materials to be used for properly sealing the doors / hood and trunk.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I would like to get a good fit / seal before sending in for body work for proper fitment. The current fit of doors / hood and trunk are quite good but with better seals the fit can be better.
I also note that the hood when set in place with proper height adjusted along the front and side edges, the rear corner gaps along the wind shield side of the hood are sitting ~ 1/8th to 1/4 inch above body. I assume I will need to lower the height of the hood to get a proper fit along the rear corners and build the remaining edges up with filler?? Is this typical?
Suggestions for door / hood and trunk seals would be appreciated (photos please) as well as any suggestions for aligning the hood are welcome.
Thanks in advance
