yes, got the call day before yesterday...they just want to verify my delivery date and asked what year my donor was.. asked if I wanted the powder coated frame...since there are no other options yet since we are SO early in the delivery process, that was about it. This afternoon, got the Bill Of Sale and payment instructions. Wire Transfer or Cahier's Check....Pretty much low stress... Dealing with Jason at FFR was as I expected....FANTASTIC service! Again Factory Five using the right tool for the right job...or in this case the right person!. Thanks Jason!!! and SEE ya NEXT WEEK!

You can but when I bought my coupe last year they said they charged a fee for the large CC purchase which negated the 1% on my card so I did the wire transfer.

Yes!

Looks like the R went away for the time being? Prices seem reasonable. That APR wing is pricey but that's par for the course.

Anyone know why they need this? What parts are changed?

Steering rack mounts are different between the years for one thing.

Turbo/NA would require different exhaust.

Early cars are cable throttle with fly-by-wire throttle being phased in starting 2006.

Looks like only $1500 in options to get all the bits and powdercoating (minus the wing). Not bad.

Turbo/NA would require different exhaust.

Also, the exhaust manifolds change by year class as well as by Turbo vs. NA. -- 2006+ Oil Pans have a different shape, and the headers wrap differently, independently of type of aspiration.

The price on the GTM seats seems pretty reasonable also...I wonder if those include hardware to mount them in addition, that would make that a really good option for those of us not using the subaru seats.

Hey guys,

We changed the order form over this morning for the 818S, and the R should have its own form very soon. There will be more options to come (Wilwood brakes, wheel options, etc.), but we posted everything we have available at this moment.

In the coming days and weeks, we'll be calling everyone with pre-orders to finalize production dates and complete the full $1,000 deposit. From there, payment terms will be the same as the other kits, so we'd want to finalize the configuration and arrange for full payment by 10 days prior to the production date.

In the meantime......

Thought you might enjoy a look at the disassembly section of the 818 build manual:

818 Disassembly Instructions - http://bit.ly/13qchz4

(Just keep in mind this is still a Beta version that hasn't been completely finalized for publishing)

Stay tuned for more developments!

Not bad if it includes hardware. I'm looking at sourcing different seats myself, and teh seats themselves can be had for $800/pair, brackets add another couple hundred.

Why would I possibly want to see that when I'm "supposed" to be doing work. ;)

Great read, ID's more prep work that I can get done, I've started prepping component sections for the build. I can add the swaybar parts, rear seat belts, modify the brake pivot position etc... I was assembling the brakes and adding my stainless braided lines just this AM.

June 15th and then August 10 can't come soon enough.

Seat mounts positions, half shaft center section, exhaust ... vary between years

The rear sway bar was also thicker in 2002 (20mm) not that it will affect fitment... just good to know.

Since I'm not using a donor for the 818R- Can anyone spill the beans on the "Over 400 Fasteners". Will guys like me have to source hardware? Or is that part of the "400 fasteners"?

with this list of donor parts, will any other donor be usable for the majority of parts needed? A list of parts with the years and models that they can be sourced from, could be useful

I've got 4 donors taken apart and can attest to the multitude of bolts that come off the cars...

They mention some donor spindle hardware you need, but they are supplying 400 fasteners

I hope that means I'm getting number 2! Going to call Jason this week.

edit:

Just spoke to Sally, who said nothing really has changed, she didn't want to take any more money either.

Jason must have just confirmed that you were the first to preorder. Very cool.

I am still down in their system as August 17th. It would be awesome If they hit the R and the S dates.

Finished cleaning the garage this weekend. I am ready.
