I really need help selecting rims for my 33 Hot Rod that I am building for my Dad. My Dad would like his 33 to look exactly like the red one in the brochure:
18216
The rims in the brochure are 'Intro' and cost about $5,000. This is not an option. So I have found other rims that look similar:
182171821818219
American Racing ar894, American Racing VN450 and Boss 315 and others. The problem I am having is that I can't find them in the size that I would like: 18x8 with 5 inch or so on the front and 19 or 20 x 9 or 10 with 6 inch or so on the back.
I had selected the Boss 338s:
18220
Bud Dad said they look to 'pimp', and I would have to agree. The spokes are too thin. I can't seem to look up rims by size anywhere. I'm sure the guy at Discount Tire would like his 45 minutes of his life back.
Any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would vote for the American Racing AR894 in the first photo.

What is it about the first rims that he likes and the last rims look "pimp"? because the spokes are too narrow(?)
trying to understand what he prefers.

Personally, I like the 5-spoke (6 spoke do not look correct, to me, look like an SUV wheel) and I prefer the Bullet style.
I think 20" & chrome looks pimp on a Hot-Rod, but's that's just me. Not trying to change your opinion, I just prefer a more traditional size and brushed / machined-finished aluminum.

wasn't there a topic/post on here a while back with pics of the different wheels & sizes on the '33s? If not, maybe we should start one to help guys see what they look like and decide. (I believe there are topics on the "other" site for Cobra wheels for 15" & 17", so you can get an idea)

Good luck! picking wheels / tires for the '33 is a tuff decision.
