Well, went on my daily checkup of our cobra last night before bed and found a nice crack in the windshield. 1000 miles and only 5 months on the road.... Factory five has them on backorder for 5-6 weeks and wont warrantee any part of it. I checked with fast freedies and he is on backorder for 2-3 weeks. I really need to fix before fathers day for a show. I was wondering if anyone has a fast Freddie windshield they have not installed yet and can wait a few weeks for a new one from him. I would pay all shipping and have him send the new one to you!

Cant believe all the window issues. Im not to the point of installing mine yet. But I am taking it to the glass man and have the edged polished.
Doesn't your insurance over that ?

I don't know if the insurance will cover or not. I am going to call though.

All I can say is that there are no screws hitting the windshield and it fit into the frame perfect. I am just not willing to take a chance on another one at this point. There is definitely some type of issue here with these. It very well could be install error, but I wish they would identify the problem and release a technical bulletin on how to correctly install it.

Freddie thinks he may possibly have a loaner for me while I wait on the backorder. fingers crossed!

I too, am almost at the point of first install of the windshield, and I am definitely worried. I plan to disassemble the frame, inspect the clearances, and get the edges smoothed/polished as many other have done. But why should we have to bear the cost of this added expense to repair a "brand new" part?

We definitely need an answer/solution for these fragile windshields. Any comments from FFR? Please?

Good call - I was his first customer for the windshield and all these years later i'm still 110% satisfied with my purchase.

There is a problem with the glass windshields - I can't remember exactly what my issue was that we found when we studied it, but I think it was something like the edge wasn't cut right so it would naturally crack in time (it did).

I am not complaining, and I can certainly see how it could be installer error. There are plenty out there that are not cracked. But I wish they would clarify the issue with a resolution.

efnfast, how does it look today? can you tell the difference over glass?

With proper washing technique and care it looks exactly the same as when I bought it 4yrs ago. No scratching or marring on it.

It is WAY clearer than glass.

The demon struck again on my cobra. only 200 miles on the car. Funny thing is it looks like its in the exact same location as yours.
